My full name is Philip Lokahi Kakwirono'Ron Cook Conte.

I am of Mohawk, Oneida, Filipino, Polynesian, Italian, and Armenian descent. With all these cultures at a young age I started looking for ways to connect myself with them. I found that art was the best thing. I started off when I was young by drawing anything I saw and from there it has grown into a passion.

I grew up surrounded by rich heritage and culture and used art to connect me to my past and my ancestors. I started off with drawings and paintings and just recently learned the art of woodcarving under William Mahoni, Doug Christy, and Mouria Pokoina. Besides them I have been able to rub shoulders with Tuione Pulotou and Steven Fehoko (Tongan Master Carvers), and Kawika Eskaran (Master Conoe builder.)

I am still learning and aspire to be all that being an artist and carver entails and I appreciate your support in helping me pursue that endeavor.
